Gallery Proza – a new space of art

On February 8th, Wrocław Literature House and NIK Ładne (Independent Curatorial Initiative) will inaugurate a new space at Club Proza – Gallery Proza. It will be a place for works by young artists connected with Wrocław. The first exhibition presented at the gallery will be a series of drawings by Karolina Buczkiewicz entitled "Women Birds”.

Gallery Proza is a new permanent exhibition space for young visual artists. It will present illustrations, drawings, prints and photographs made by artists from Wrocław or connected with the city. The idea behind the gallery is to present works by young artists, including emerging ones, who create original projects, but cannot yet show their works in big galleries.

"Women Birds”, the first exhibition to be presented at Gallery Proza, is a series of feminine drawings by Karolina Buczkiewicz, lecturer at Wrocław School of Photography AFA, tattoo artist, winner of the Best Diploma of the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts Competition in 2016. The curator of the project is Katarzyna Śmigielska, urbanist, teacher, alumna of postgraduate studies in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, currently pursuing postgraduate studies in contemporary art mediation. She cooperates with Jagoda Malanin, photographer and media artist.
