Warstwy Publishing House at the 27th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

The International Book Fair in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, has been organized since 1981. It is an important cultural event bringing together the most eminent Arab publishing houses, as well as prominent publishers from around the world. This year, Poland is the guest of honour of the fair and Warstwy will be one of the publishing houses included in the Polish presentation.

The Book Fair will take place between 25 April and 1 May. It is one of the most important events of this kind in the Middle East. The organisers would like to present the most recent trends in Polish literature, which is very popular among readers abroad, but mostly in Europe. 

The programme in the Polish Pavilion includes: lectures on Polish literature and other aspects of cultural heritage like music and dance, workshops for kids led by well-known illustrators Marta Ignerska and Marianna Oklejak, meetings with famous writers (Małgorzata Lebda, Andrzej Sapkowski, Wioletta Grzegorzewska, Antoni Libera, Jakub Małecki, Wojciech Chmielarz, Wojciech Tomczyk, Dariusz Karłowicz and  Rafał Kosik) and a various exhibitions for children and adults.The co-organizers of the Polish Pavilion are: the Polish Ambassador in Abu Dhabi and the Polish Book Institute, in collaboration with National Library of Poland and Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
