Bookowisko and other “bookish” activities for World Book Day
Would you like to share good books with others? Are you running out of bookshelf space at home? Or maybe you're looking for books which you can't find in bookshops? If the answer to any of these questions is "yes,” or if you simply enjoy the company of fellow readers, then you should visit Bookowisko.
On 21 April (Saturday), between 11 am and 5 pm, we invite you to the very heart of Wrocław – Przejście Garncarskie 2 – for Bookowisko, a sale of private books organised by Wrocław Literature House. You’ll will find a variety of books here – popular and rare, new and second-hand. All genres are equal here – science fiction, crime, action, poetry, children’s literature, graphic novels, albums and comics.
Booksellers, antiquarians and anyone interested in selling books (regardless of whether you'd like to sell 3 or 1,003 books) – should complete the form available HERE. Selling books is free of charge. The organizer provides exhibitors with space and stalls in Przejście Garncarskie (in front of Wrocław Literature House).Time: 21 April 2018 (Saturday), 11 am–3 pm
Location: Przejście Garncarskie 2 (Main Square)
Bookowisko is not the only event we prepared for the World Book Day weekend. At 11 am at Proza, second floor, a Family Morning (free screening of a film for children) will start, and on Sunday at 5 pm, we will present a particularly "bookish” edition of the Literature on Big Screen” film cycle.
And last but not least – Saturday afternoon in Proza (between 4 and 7 pm) will be devoted to Greece. On occasion of Athens becoming UNESCO World Book Capital 2017, we invite for an Afternoon with Greek Culture: a slide show, lecture on Greek music with a concert, and finally a meeting with Makis Tsitas, winner of European Union Prize for Literature for his novel "God Is My Witness” recently published in Poland by Książkowe Klimaty (translated by Michał Bzinkowski).
